Node Participation

Learn how to become a node operator in the Caiz blockchain network, including requirements, permissions, and governance responsibilities.

Participating as a node in the Caiz blockchain network is a critical role that supports the infrastructure, governance, and compliance of a transparent, faith-aligned financial system.

Unlike public chains where anyone can run a node without vetting, Caiz operates a permissioned network under the Islamic Federated Byzantine Agreement (IFBA). This allows Caiz to balance decentralization with trust, accountability, and Sharia compliance.

Types of Nodes in the Caiz Network

Node TypeRole
Validator NodesVerify transactions, produce blocks, and enforce IFBA compliance. Must pass strict onboarding.
Observer NodesMonitor network activity and provide data to explorers or oracles. Do not participate in consensus.
Governance NodesRun by Sharia scholars and ecosystem councils to enforce ethical protocols and resolve disputes.

Requirements for Running a Validator Node

1

1. Legal Entity & Verification

All validator applicants must be a registered legal entity or institution. The entity undergoes KYB (Know Your Business) verification and compliance review.

2

2. Technical Readiness

Validator operators must maintain:

  • 99.9% uptime
  • Secure, updated infrastructure
  • Encrypted channels and backups
  • Redundant failover systems

Hardware specs are shared upon approval, and cloud deployments are allowed under strict guidelines.

3

3. Sharia Compliance Commitment

Node operators must sign and adhere to:

  • The Caiz Sharia Compliance Charter
  • A Code of Conduct aligning with Islamic financial principles
4

4. Network Participation Agreement

Approved validators are added to the IFBA validator list and must follow quorum rules, reporting protocols, and dispute resolution policies.

Security Considerations
